About Stockholm
Riddarholmen and lake Mälaren seen from Södermalm
Stockholm - The Capital of Scandinavia

The city is located on 14 islands just between lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. On the Baltic Sea side of Stockholm, you find the archipelago, with more than 24 000 islands. In the middle of Stockholm lies the Old town (Gamla Stan), the best preserved and largest of all old towns in Northern Europe. Gamla Stan was founded in the 13th century. The old buildings are amazingly well blended in with the surrounding modern Stockholm architecture.

Stockholm offers an enormous selection of things to do. In addition, Stockholm is the home of the Nobel prize.
